Miller Ferry to Put-In-Bay For an Unforgetable Family Fun Day!

Last year we discovered how easy it is to enjoy some family fun away from, but still pretty close to home!

Miller Ferry to the island of Put-in-Bay  is just a short drive from Cleveland but even just a day there felt like a perfect getaway vacation!

The kids loved it so much last year, they decided that it would become a new summer tradition.  And this time, we brought some friends!

When you arrive at the Miller Ferry port, there is plenty of free parking nearby.  Getting your ferry tickets involves a short wait in line and during summer hours, there’s a ferry ready to take you away every half hour.

After a relaxing ferry ride to the island, we were ready to check out Put-In-Bay’s new FREE family-friendly music festival.  Some of us brought our own transportation (my daughter was so excited to see that longboarding IS allowed on the island) but the rest of us needed a ride!

E’s Put-In-Bay Carts and other places to rent a golf cart or other transportation, are just a short stroll ahead after you step off the ferry.  I would definitely recommend reserving your cart ahead of time.  You’ll receive a discount if you book online, plus on busy days, you’ll be sure you have a cart before they sell out!

Trust me, you want to have a cart ready for you so you can start your island adventure as soon as possible!

There’s so many fun things to do on the island, but honestly, for this busy mom, I love that you don’t have to do anything at all and still have an amazing day!

Because we were really looking forward to the music fest, we headed straight to Perry’s Monument where the music fest stage was set up.  We found the perfect shady spot under a tree, with a great view of the lake and of the music fest stage.

The girls rode their longboards and the boys enjoyed yard games like cornhole, while the adults enjoyed lazily lounging around to good music, food and drink.

Finding downtime for myself is a luxury and so I could have stayed under that tree the entire day enjoying the breeze off the lake and the variety of music, but since our friends hadn’t been to Put-In-Bay and there are plenty of things we didn’t do on our last visit, we eventually picked up our things and headed out on the carts to check out the island.

One of the places you know the kids are going to want to spend some time at is Perry’s Cave Family Fun Center for a friendly game of putt-putt.

Put-In-Bay has so many other things to do such as lakefront restaurants, playgrounds, water activities, wineries, a campground and lots of fun events happening all season long.  You can easily visit the island as a spontaneous day trip, but better yet, you can check out Miller Ferry’s website for all the latest updates and offerings so you can plan the perfect trip for your family too!

Also,  check out Miller’s Ferry’s coupon page for lots of great offers for various places on the island.

There’s still plenty of great weather left to visit Put-In-Bay this season via Miller Ferry so make sure you put it in your calendar for 2017 and while you’re at it, don’t forget to save the date for the 2nd Annual Put-In-Bay MUSIC FEST on Saturday, June 9, 2018!

One more thing, check out this gorgeous sunset on our ferry trip back to the mainland.  Lake Erie was a little choppy this trip and we discovered that standing near the front of the ferry was more like the splash zone and made for an even more fun ride back!

Many thanks to Miller Ferry for the invitation to visit the island with my family for the music fest, and for the complimentary golf cart and ferry ride to Put-In-Bay! All opinions in this post were genuinely 100% mine.
